空に向けて垂直に立つ木と旗は祖霊を迎える目印になる。
初盆から3年間はその家に迎灯篭木（ムカイトロゲ）が掲げられる。

出身地であり民俗学のメッカ岩手県遠野市のお盆の夏休み記録。

110年前の1909年8月にその地を散歩した柳田國男が見た風景と、110年後の2019年8月に帰省散歩した風景が重なる。

故郷の風景の中に入ること/離れることについて。
